Pathfinder’s goal is simple: use games to arouse interest in, inform, and enable high school students to successfully make the journey to and through college.
Players take on the role of a college applicant and make strategic choices about academics, work, service, extracurriculars and what makes a strong application.
The Pathfinder project offers a different approach to engaging students in the college preparation and application processes. Here’s why:
Pathfinder has been created as a mechanism for communicating and teaching the rules of the college application process before (or as) students actually apply.
Since so many youth spend time online and/or playing digital games, we are confident Pathfinder will resonate with our target audience. The online version of the Pathfinder game holds the potential to bring effective college access practices to a national audience.
You can submit an online application for a free copy of the card game, which takes 60-90 minutes to play. An online version of the game is in development.
