From site:  If you've ever written a love poem, seen a horror movie, or enjoyed a murder mystery novel then you have experienced a part of popular culture inspired by Edgar Allan Poe. In fact, he is still influencing popular culture 160 years after his death. Locked door murders, romantic poetry, and trips to the moon are just part of who Poe was and what he wrote.

Teachers - This web page provides a biography of Edgar Allan Poe to use in your classroom before making your visit.  In addition to the biography, information about Poe’s literary contributions and writing techniques are also available by clicking on the links on the right side of this page.

The website also offers a complete Educators Packet, which includes a biographical timeline of Poe’s life and several fun and informative lessons plans for the classroom. To receive the packet, middle and high school teachers may use this link to fill out the request form and provide their school’s address.
