United States Map

From site:  iKnowthat.com’s Geography Puzzle Maps is a collection of three programs that emphasize learning objectives related to the understanding and application of physical and political maps...  Kids can learn where places are located and what characteristics make them special.

  • In the Puzzle activity, kids place puzzle pieces in their correct locations on a map.They can see where one place is located in relation to another and hear the correct pronunciation of the place’s name.

  • In the Clues activity, kids are given up to five clues to help them select the correct puzzle piece and fill in a map. Using deductive reasoning skills, kids learn about the physical and human characteristics of each place, such as

- Who lives there?
- What are the temperature and climate like there?
- When did important historical events occur there?
- Why are certain physical land features there?
- Where is the area located in the world?

  • In the Label activity, kids must put the correct ‘nametag’ on parts of a map. They also see the correct spelling and hear the correct pronunciation of the place’s name.
