In this history project, kids create a historic web page of their school's community, researching explorers and significant events from its past. Look at examplar projects submitted by other classes for ideas and format. Submit your project idea to the website. The emphasis is on the use of Google tools such as Google Earth, Docs, Maps and Search.

Google Historical Voyages and Events
We've used this site and some of the projects on it. I like the way it showcases student work. It also shows teacher lessons. If you contact the site manager Carol LaRow - This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , she will add additional topics for you. Nice thing is that projects are submitted from around the world, not just the U.S. You can learn about other countries. At the same time you can publish your students' work.
