From site: Culinary topics are an excellent way to introduce math concepts, science principles, and even artistic ideas. Measuring ingredients and converting recipes seems more like fun than math! Is it more interesting to read about yeast in a book, or bake bread from scratch? How many ways can food be presented on a plate to create a pleasing visual experience? The answers point to one conclusion: culinary arts can be an invaluable teaching aid! What's more, once kids are introduced to cooking, they usually become enthusiastic budding chefs!
The mission of CIAKids is to inspire and nurture in young people a love of the culinary and baking and pastry arts in a fun and informative environment.
Our goals are to:
1) Increase kids' and young adults' culinary knowledge and fuel their interest in foodservice industry careers.
(2) Foster creativity and encourage young people to have fun in the kitchen.
(3) Serve as an educational resource for parents and teachers of aspiring young chefs.
(4) Support The Culinary Institute of America's mission of providing the world's best professional culinary education and instill in our youth the college's core values of excellence, leadership, professionalism, ethics, and respect for diversity.
