NOVA Education

NOVA offers teachers STEM resources for science and math students in grades 3-12.  Foremost amongst these are classroom guides that incorporate a series of lesson around NOVA media themes in the sciences and mathematics. Topics include anthropology, archaeology, chemistry, earth science, forensics, health science, life science, mathematics, oceanography, paleontology, physics, social studies, space science, and technology/engineering. Note that the most recent guides will have media available online. Older guides no longer offer online video.

Health Smart Virginia

Health Smart Virginia has curriculum resources for health education of students in grades K-10.  The standards encompass healthy body, mental wellness, disease prevention, substance avoidance, injury prevention, managing emergencies, healthy community and health information.  Although tied to Virginia standards, the curriculum is applicable to students anywwhere.

Primary Resources

Primary Resources is a UK website with free lesson plans, activities and resources for K-8 students.  Subjects include math, English, science, information technology, history, geography, art, design and technology, religious education, music, physical education and foreign languages.

Microsoft Lesson Plans

Microsoft offers a lesson plan library that focuses on the use of technology and global themes for K-12 educators in all subjects. In addition to lessons, there are T video tutorials for teachers. Other resources for registered users include a platform for creating and sharing your own lessons, using Powerpoint or video, and discussion groups with other educators around the world.

A to Z Teacher Stuff: Lesson Plans

A to Z Teacher Stuff provides a searchable directory of free online lesson plans and lesson plan resources for all grades and subjects.   Among these are special education lesson plans, and thematic units. Elsewhere on the site, you’ll find customizable worksheet makers and printables for your classroom.
